GET THERE
16 hours driving from Stockholm, 95 km from Oppdal.
By car E6 from Oslo through Gudbrandsdalen valley towars Trondheim. Hamar, Dombås (where Romsdal valley ends),
over Dovre mountains to Oppdal. Take off down Sunndalen valley on the scenic route 70 to Sunndalsöra.
Litledalen valley with Tågbekken water fall begins here. Continue north for 10 km, take off east towards
Innerdalen in Ålvundeid. There is a large free parking where the road ends.
By bus: From Oslo to Sunndalsöra. Local bus from Sunndalsöra to Ålvundeid.
A closed dirt road continues on the north side of the valley 4 km past innerdalsvatnet lake to the huts.

June offers relatively less rain and wind, and 22 daylight hours.
In summer, when its not raining there might be mosquitos and tiny knott. It's a good idea to prepare for a quick take-off in Sunndalsora, rather
than hanging around by the parking lot, for this reason.

CHARACTER
Scattered granite trad, 1-15 pitches.
Above tree-line alpine south and east walls on Skarfjell, 8-12 pitches grade 5-7. Scrambling up the
Innertalstårnet tower. Klettergarten above the hut. First ascent of Innerdalstårnet tower in 1820,
Vinnufjell by Slingsby in 1906. .
APPROACH
Ascending grass slopes for several hours.
One hour hike ascending 300 meters from Innerdalen valley to Giklingdalen valley (with the Norsk
Tindeklub locked hut and good although exposed camping sites). Another 2 hours to the foot of the
Skarfjell south and east walls.
Descent: in low visibility, it might be tricky to find the 40 meter descent rapell onto snow at Skarfjell south face. Check a map.

"Klatreförer for Innerdalen" published by Norsk Tindeklub in 2001, ISBN 82-991002-3-2 300 NOK. Not available in most book or sport shops, but in one of two sport shops in Sunndalsöra, and in
the Innerdalshytta hut, aswell as possibly in the Renndölsetra hut.
ACCOMMODATION
1.The private tourist hut Innerdalshytta (built in 1988, 290 NOK a day, offering 3-course dinners at NOK 280, breakfast at NOK 110).
2. The neighbour Renndölsetra (private traditional farm with accomodation).
3. DNT/KNT Gamlehytta ("The Old Hut"), one of 24 huts maintained on "dugnad" by volunteers in the Trollheimen mountain range, all within hiking distance. Renovated in 2006, the genuine 1889 Gamlehytta hut offers a modern kitchen. Unlike the other huts, it is not manned. You pay by cash in an envelope (275 NOK a day, plus any food you take from the supply room). Bring sheets or a sleeping bag.
4.Camping is allowed for 48 hours in designated meadows, not closer than 150 meters from the huts.
