This is how you can apply your BD Android leashes without attaching the webbing on the head and shaft. "What's next plastic leather boots, rigid semi-rigid crampons, long-sleeved vests?"
Don't miss the heated debate:
Disclaimer: We do not guarantee your personal safety nor the strength of your tools or leashes after performing this D.I.Y. We will not be held responsible in case you have an accident, following this tip.
1.) Remove the little plastic caps from the shaft.
2.) You will need a 6 mm thread tap (A), two 6 mm Allen screws (B). File the head of the screws ‘til the diameter is the same as of the original Andriod leash (C) The originally drilled hole is exactly the same diameter as the 6 mm thread tap; =no need for a drill.
3.) Required hardware (times two)... (a) 6 mm locking nut (b) Teflon/plastic washers (c) thin, flat 6 mm nut (d) a cap to cover the threads of the Allen screw [see pic. above and below]
(e) Allen screw 4.) After assembling the above –cut off the Allen screw firm to the locking nut 5.) This is what it now should look like
Note: Make sure that the leash will be long enough to use for your axes before you start this “project”. |
