The only 11 competitors from Skövde and Göteborg feasted on sponsor awards. Both competitors and organizers seem satisfied and inspired. The event will be repeated next year for sure. Maybe there will even be a series. The setup was quite ambitious for a small event. Participants were held in isolation to ensure on-sight climbing.
- We're not used to competitions and artificial walls, says Carl-Johan Nystedt, one of the participants. Markuz is the only one of us with some experience of the situation.
The routes included free-hanging logs (with drilled hooks) and other features, inspired by the ice world cup.
- The qualification routes proved tougher than the participants. The final routes had to be easier, to make sure at least the winner would top out. National television sent a 3 minute clip on Saturday night (skip until 10:28). Text: David Hässler
