Guy Lacelle wrote us an email about Laerdal and plans for a trip to Norway in 2007. - I have climbed there on many occasions, lots of great ice there.
Gorigrovi to the left, Boafossen to the right. Seen from E16 in Laerdal.
He did Thorfossen in Laerdal together with Philippe Pibarot and Bernard Maillot.
- Another route that stands out is Gorigrov which is just behind one of the farms. It took two and a half pitch of moderate but commiting mixte climbing to access the outstanding ice above (4 1/2sustain pitches).
Guy Lacelle also tells us about his article on eight different ice destinations in the December 2006 issue of Gripped magazine.
- I talk about Norway and my reason to keep going back. Hopefully the editor does'nt cut to much of it. I have been in Norway 5 times already and I am planning to be back again this winter. I will be doing a slide show up north near Tromso or Burdafoss the first weeked of February. I will probably be near Hemsedal the weeked before that. Hope to see you somewhere in Norway this winter. |
